The lantern after gilding.
I am underpainting the design in yellow before I apply the gold leaf.
The Pagoda was originally made for the 1867 Paris Exposition Universelle, and was brought to Cliveden in 1900 to be a centrepiece in the highly fashionable Chinese garden.
The work was carried out in association with Huning Decorations. More information is available on the National Trust web site.
